Why the CTEK MXT 4.0 24V?
Light commercial vehicles — Tata Ace, Mahindra Jeeto, Ashok Leyland Dost, small buses — run on 24V electrical systems. These vehicles work hard, often sit unused overnight in parking lots, and their batteries take a constant beating. A 12V charger will not work on a 24V system. The MXT 4.0 is CTEK's entry-level 24V charger, bringing the same intelligent 8-step charging to the commercial vehicle segment. At 4A, it is appropriate for batteries up to 160Ah — covering the majority of light commercial vehicles in India.

How To Use
Step-by-step instructions
Confirm vehicle is 24V — check battery label or vehicle manual.
Connect red clamp to positive (+), black to negative (−).
Plug into 230V. Charger operates at 24V automatically.
For a flat 100Ah 24V battery: approximately 25–30 hours at 4A — for faster charging use MXT 14.
Green light indicates full charge.

Common questions
How is a CTEK charger different from a cheap charger?
A basic charger pushes current until you disconnect it, which can overcharge and damage the battery. CTEK chargers use a multi-step algorithm — they assess battery condition, desulfate if needed, charge at the optimal rate, and switch to maintenance mode automatically. Safe to leave connected indefinitely.
Can I charge an AGM battery with a standard charger?
No — AGM batteries require a specific voltage ceiling and charging profile. A standard charger will overcharge an AGM battery and destroy it. All CTEK chargers with an AGM mode are safe for AGM batteries.
How often should I charge my car battery?
If you drive daily, your alternator keeps the battery charged. But if the car sits unused for more than 2 weeks, connect a charger. In Indian summers, charge and test every 3 months — heat is the primary cause of early battery death.
Is it safe to leave a CTEK charger connected for months?
Yes. CTEK chargers automatically switch to pulse maintenance mode once charging is complete. They deliver tiny pulses to keep the battery at 100% without overcharging. Many customers leave them connected for the entire monsoon/winter storage period.
