Lithium LiFePO4 batteries are fundamentally different from lead-acid batteries — different voltage range, different charging algorithm, and critically, they require cell balancing to stay healthy. A lead-acid charger used on a lithium battery will either undercharge it (leaving it at 70% when you think it's full) or damage it by charging to the wrong voltage. The CTEK Lithium XS is purpose-built for LiFePO4 — it uses the correct charging profile and includes an active balancing function that equalises the individual cells in the battery pack, extending its life significantly.

How To Use

Step-by-step instructions

Confirm your battery is LiFePO4 — check the label. Do NOT use on standard lead-acid or AGM batteries.

Connect red clamp to positive (+), black to negative (−).

Plug into 230V. The charger automatically uses the LiFePO4 profile.

The balancing step may add 30–60 minutes at the end of charging — do not disconnect during this step.

Green light indicates complete. The charger does not have a maintenance mode — disconnect after charging.
