Purpose-built for superbikes and powersport vehicles. Handles AGM, GEL and LiFePO4 batteries.
The MXS 5.0 is designed for cars. The CT5 PowerSport is designed for bikes — and the difference matters. Superbike batteries are physically smaller, have different chemistry requirements, and many modern performance bikes (KTM, Ducati, BMW GS, Triumph) come with AGM or lithium LiFePO4 batteries from the factory. The CT5 PowerSport is CTEK's dedicated powersport charger — it correctly handles all these battery types and has a specific LiFePO4 mode for lithium batteries. It is also IP65 weatherproof, meaning it can charge in a damp garage or outdoors without damage.
vs MXS 5.0: The MXS 5.0 is designed for car batteries (14–130Ah). The CT5 PowerSport handles smaller bike batteries correctly and includes LiFePO4 mode. If you have both a car and a bike, the MXS 5.0 can charge the bike in a pinch, but the CT5 PowerSport is the right tool for regular bike use. vs XS 0.8: The XS 0.8 is too slow for a Royal Enfield or larger bike — CT5 at 5A is the right choice.
