Why the Autool BT760 Battery Tester?

The BT760 is the top-of-range Autool tester — it performs a full load test (not just a conductance test), supports LiFePO4 lithium batteries, and prints a professional report on thermal paper in seconds. The load test is more thorough than a conductance test — it applies an actual load to the battery and measures how it performs under real starting conditions. For workshops that charge for battery diagnostics, the printed report is the difference between a customer accepting the recommendation to replace and one who isn't sure.

The 5-step process explained

1
Conductance Test
Fast initial test using electrical conductance to estimate CCA and health.
2
Load Test
Applies a controlled load (equivalent to engine cranking) and measures voltage drop — the most accurate battery test method.
3
Alternator Test
With engine running, tests charging voltage and ripple to diagnose alternator faults.
4
Cranking Test
Records voltage during actual engine start to assess real-world battery performance.
5
Print Report
One button prints a complete diagnostic report including all test results, date, and recommendation.

Step-by-step instructions

Connect red clamp to positive (+), black to negative (−).
Select battery type and rated CCA — found on the battery label.
Run conductance test first (5 seconds), then load test (15 seconds).
For alternator test: start the engine and select alternator mode.
Press PRINT to generate the customer report on thermal paper.

Not suitable for: Home users who just need a quick check — the KW210 is better value.

vs other options

vs BT860: The BT760 performs an actual load test versus the BT860's conductance-only test — more accurate for borderline batteries. The BT760 also supports LiFePO4. For a serious workshop, the BT760 is the better tool. vs Foxwell BT-780: Both are professional printers at similar price — Foxwell is slightly lighter at 0.8kg.

Common questions

How do I know if my battery is going to fail before it does?
Test the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). A battery rated at 500 CCA that tests at 350 CCA (70%) is getting weak — replace it before it fails. Most professional testers show a health percentage and a clear GOOD/REPLACE result.
Can I test a battery without removing it from the car?
Yes. All testers here work in-vehicle — connect the clamps to the battery terminals without disconnecting the battery. Make sure the car is off and no large loads are running during the test.
What is the difference between CCA and Ah rating?
Ah (ampere-hours) measures storage capacity — how much energy the battery holds. CCA measures starting power — how much current it can deliver in a cold start. For testing battery health, CCA is the more important number.
Do I need a battery tester with a printer?
For home use, no. For a workshop, yes — a printed report given to the customer removes any argument about whether the battery is actually bad. It documents your diagnosis professionally.
